Answer: if im gonna be carrying the pistol, then id get the springfield in 40cal. the beretta is a bit bulky to carry around concealed. the 40 is the more potent round for self defense on the street. the xd's have no manual safety so when you need to use it, you just point and shoot, its always ready. the beretta has a safety that you may forget about in a stressful situation. if its just for the range and home defense, id get the beretta in 9mm, they look so purty especially in inox. also 9mm rounds are cheap. theyre both great guns though.
