Question: I have a Quarter Horse and he needs a wide saddle. Is 6" a wide gullet ? Thanks so much! :D

Answer: Depends on the saddle maker - for example, I have a wide tree that is 7", and my drafts use an 11" gullet. You need to measure the gullet on the saddle, do not base your decision on narrow, medium or wide in the description...Have you actually measured your horse to make this determination? Take a cloth tape measure and lay it over the withers where the gullet of the saddle would sit and measure the gullet area...this will tell you what your horse needs in inches. Then you can compare this to the measurement of the actual saddle to get the best fit.
